How does the heat pump system work? How is it so energy efficient?
The Solar Homes Program is helping eligible Victorian households to take charge of their power bills, adopt renewable energy and provide a cleaner, better future for all Victorians. The program makes it easier to get solar with rebates for solar panels (PV), solar hot water and solar batteries along with new incentives including interest-free loans for solar panels (PV). Your solar retailer will claim the rebate on your behalf and the rebate amount will be deducted from the cost of your overall system and installation. You are responsible for paying any outstanding balance directly to your solar retailer once installed.
To further reduce costs, owner-occupiers and landlords can apply for an interest-free loan for solar panel (PV) systems, for an amount equivalent to their solar panel (PV) rebate amount. You will be notified of your eligibility for a loan as part of the rebate application process via the Solar Victoria Portal. The rebate and loan amounts will be deducted from the cost of your system – ensuring you only have to pay any outstanding balance once the system is installed. Your solar retailer will then be reimbursed for the rebate and loan amounts. The loan is required to be repaid over four years. Loans are not available for solar hot water or solar batteries.
Eligible households, including rental property owners, can claim a discount on the cost of solar panels (PV).
